Recreational Therapy

Recreational Therapies Are Effective Against Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia-Related Illnesses

Recreational Therapy is an excellent tool, that helps seniors to reconnect with the activities they once enjoyed – or find new ones – in a way that improves their physical and mental health, as well as their cognitive functions.

It is an essential part of improving the quality of the lives of the elderly, the infirmed, disabled children, as well as for persons who have been diagnosed with mild to medium Alzheimer’s and Dementia symptoms.

It is more than just a way of having fun, it is also used to:

  • Stimulate the brain
  • Slow progress of the disease
  • Lessen frustration
  • Give purpose, enjoyment and hope
  • Prevent the spiral into isolation

Our Recreational therapy activities include:

  • Games
  • Dancing
  • Music
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Sports
  • Exercises

Hours and rates

The following are some notes on the services we offer:

Caregiver Services

  • We provide this service 24 hours a day/7 days a week
  • Standard rates apply from Monday through Saturday  
  • Special rates apply for Sundays and Public Holidays
  • We do 12 hour shifts:
    • 6am to 6pm
    • 6pm to 6am
    • 7am to 7pm
    • 7pm to 7am 
  • Our minimum weekly – 4 days at 8 hours each

Recreational Therapy: 

  • This can be done individually or in groups of a maximum of 3 persons (family members ONLY). 
  • The rates charged will be per person.
  • Rates vary depending on the length of the session (We offer options such as : 2 hour and 3 hour sessions).
  • This is done by appointment ONLY, and at the client’s residence.
  • External Group sessions are being considered and will be introduced at the appropriate time.
